(By Shuai Sun) IIIS Welcome month for freshmen and graduates of 2015 kicked off on Aug. 19th, 2015.
Yaoclass freshmen 2015 registered on Aug. 19th, while Yao Class admission from other departments of Tsinghua University was also started. This year, over 150 Tsinghua freshmen applied for Yaoclass and 22 of them got admitted through test and interview.
2015 graduates registration was held on Aug. 25, when 21 PhD and 4 master candidates joined IIIS. All of them will further their study in interdisciplinary science and endeavor to become excellent researchers.
In the following weeks, Yaoclass freshmen and graduates of 2015 will acquire their first taste of Tsinghua life through welcome events and orientation activities. Besides letting freshman understand and then adapting to the lifestyle and culture in Tsinghua University, these activities also help boost a sense of belongs of students here. We wish all freshmen a successful start to the academic year and new student life!
