The first IIIS institute meeting took place on Feb 24, the beginning of Spring Semester, 2011. Deputy Dean Prof. Amy Yuexuan Wang together with faculty members, postdocs, staff and graduate students joined the meeting.

Dr. Kihwan Kim and Dr. Charlie Qiang-Sheng Hua have recently joined the IIIS faculty team. They made a brief self-introduction and were warmly welcomed at the meeting.   

While sharing with others a few plans in the coming year, Dr. Christophe Tartary believed that with the establishment of IIIS, there will be more possibility to explore. And it’d be stimulating for young people to have a broader scope to work on.

Chaired by Dr. Joshua Brody, research group seminars this semester were also arranged during the meeting.
