Jiajun Wu from Yaoclass Named China's Undergraduate of the Year 2013

Jiajun Wu, from Yaoclass 00 of Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Science, Tsinghua University, wins the title of China’s Undergraduate of the Year 2013, in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements, including two published papers at CVPR- a top conference on computer vision, and being invited as a reviewer of this conference. The event is co-hosted by people.com.cn and China Campus under the guidance of the Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Education, and the Central Committee of the Communist Young League. 

Launched in January 2013, this 3-month event attracted 1562 undergraduates from across 716 different universities in 31 provinces to apply to enter the awards. The assessment was made by inviting the votes from teachers, students and other interested people through website, weibo and text message. Overcoming tough competition and gaining the majority out of over 140,000 votes, ten students won the Undergraduate of the Year 2013 Award, twenty students Award Nomination and one student Special Award.
