On Sept. 25, Yao Class students from four grades gathered at the class meeting, which took place at the Lecture Hall of FIT Building. It was hosted by Prof. Amy Yuexuan Wang, and Prof. Andrew Chi-Chih Yao together with Assoc. Prof. Xiaoming Sun and other Yao Class instructors joined the meeting.

Prof. Wang first extended warm welcome to students of Yao Class Grade 2010. In the following remarks, Prof. Yao stressed the mission of the Special Pilot CS Class (Yao Class). He pointed out that, as an important part of the “Tsinghua Xuetang” Program, it aims to nurture excellent undergraduate students and help them become top CS talents like their counterparts from MIT, Stanford and other prestigious institutions. And in order to achieve this goal, ITCS has been devoted to the development of a world-class education program.

By the end of his talk, Prof. Yao expressed the hope that young students could cherish their ambitions and make positive contributions to the society. Assoc. Prof. Sun and Yao Class advisors also welcomed freshmen to join Yao Class and encouraged them to work hard in the new semester.

The class meeting closed with an interaction session between students and Prof. Yao.
