In this talk, I will briefly introduce some of our recent works on many-body physics aspect of cold atoms. As examples, I shall introduce new “superfluid liquid crystals” phase in spin-orbit coupled Bose gases; engineering spatially modulated interaction with alkali earth atoms and the debate of ferromagnetism in strongly interacting Fermi gases.
Zhai Hui received his PhD in Physics from Center for Advanced Study, Tsinghua University in Jan. 2005. He was a Postdoc Scholar at the Department of Physics, the Ohio-State University from Jun. 2005-May 2007 and a Postdoc Scholar at Material Science Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Department of Physics, University of California at Berkeley from Sep. 2007-June 2009. He joined Institute for Advanced Study, Tsinghua University in July 2009.
