(By Yuying Chang) IIIS PhD Student Forum was launched on the afternoon of October 10. 2015. The forum invited Assistant Professors Jian Li, Longbo Huang, Jianyang Zeng, Xiongfeng Ma and Associate Professor Kihwan Kim to sit on a panel and hear from seven PhD students (including Shuoming An, Weibin Wang and Xiao Yuan in Physics, and Zhu Cao, Chuang Gan, Lingxiao Huang and Zihe Wang in Computer Science) on their latest research achievements.

These seven students were also the applicants for the National Scholarship for Graduate Students. Their research areas varied from theoretical computer science to quantum information. After their presentation, four were selected by the panel of academics. The winners are Chuang Gan (Master honor candidate), Shuoming An (PhD honor candidate), Zihe Wang (PhD honor candidate) and Xiao Yuan (PhD honor candidate).
