As Tsinghua University celebrated its 105th birthday on Apr. 23, Dr. Zou Hao, president and CEO of Abundy Inc. and executive director of IIIS Fintech Center, visited Tsinghua and delivered a speech titled “Age of Fintech: Challenges & Opportunities” as the invited speaker of IIIS Alumni Forum 2016.
Dr. Zou Hao began his speech with his experience and suggestions on personal development. He then introduced the development of FinTech and challenges that traditional finance faces in digital times. He also explained how intellectual intelligence and big data would solve the problems emerging from the industrial revolution of Fintech in China.
IIIS FinTech Center, as Dr. Zou Hao presented at the end of his speech, is headed by Prof. Andrew Chi-Chih Yao and Dr. Zouhao is appointed as Executive Director, aiming to become one of the leading research centers on interdisciplinary research on information science and finance, extend cooperation with enterprises and industrialize scientific research achievements.
Zou Hao, one of the first members of Yaoclass, ran PIMCO as the youngest Portfolio Manager at 29 years old. Before joining PIMCO, he represented Stanford University in various USA and international communication standards committees and was elected the youngest Executive Committee Member of the Marconi Society. He left PIMCO in 2016, aiming to found a leading international financial investment and fintech startup. He was named to the 2016 Forbes 30 Under 30 List in Finance as the only Chinese and won the award of World Outstanding Chinese Youth from Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council.
