Abstract:
In this talk, I will first give a brief introduction of shortcuts to adiabaticity with the applications of atom cooling, transport and internal state control. Then I focus on the shortcuts to adiabatic transport of BEC particularly with nonharmonic traps. Also the shortcut to adiabatic compression of matter wave soliton is also discussed. Finally, my talk will end up with the applications of quantum heat engine, in which we clarify the effect of the STA on the efficiency and power output of the engine and how this depends on the strength of the non-linearity.
