Navigation in complex, cluttered, and dynamic environments is a challenging task which has many important applications in mobile robotics. Classical algorithms for navigation in dynamic environments suffer from two major impediments called the ``freezing robot problem'' and the ``navigation lost problem''. In this talk, we will discuss our recent work about solutions to these two problems.
Jia Pan received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013. He has been with the City University of Hong Kong since 2015. His research interest is the algorithmic robotics, including multi-robot systems and deformable object manipulation.
