Two Yaoclass Alumni Named to 2016 Forbes 30 Under 30 List

Two Yaoclass Alumni were named to The 2016 Forbes 30 Under 30 List unveiled recently. Zou Hao (Yaoclass 2004) was included in the 2016 Forbes 30 Under 30 List in Finance as the only Chinese. Yin Qi (Yaoclass 2006) was chosen for the Forbes’ First-Ever 30 Under 30 Asia List in Enterprise Technology, ranking the first.

Zou Hao, one of the first members of Yaoclass, ran PIMCO as the youngest Portfolio Manager at 29 years old. Before joining PIMCO, he represented Stanford University in various USA and international communication standards committees and was elected the youngest Executive Committee Member of the Marconi Society. He left PIMCO in 2016, aiming to found a leading international financial investment and fintech startup.

Yin Qi (Yaoclass 2006) launched Megvii with two other Yaoclass alumni, Tang Wenbin (Yaoclass 2006) and Yang Mu (Yaoclass 2007), developing facial-recognition applications and other intelligence technology. The Face++ platform they build covers over 1 billion pictures and attracted 15 thousand APP to work with them. Face++ team won the champion on three world-class tech evaluations in 2014 including FDDB, 300-W and LFW. In the face-recognition of news photos, they beat the former champion Facebook team with accuracy of 97.27%.

Forbes' renowned 30 Under 30 List is revealed annually, which includes 20 categories with each of the honorees, all under 30 years old, among whom 3 Tsinghua Alumni were named this year. 2016 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia List is the first time ever that a company has put together such a comprehensive list to highlight and celebrate the work of young entrepreneurs and social leaders across Asia.
