Recently, Chinese Association for Cryptologic Research officially announced the winner of 2018 Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award. Cryptography and Randomness Extraction in the Multi-Stream Model, written by Guang Yang, Ph.D. graduate of IIIS, was named CACR Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award 2018.
Guang Yang, member of YaoClass 2006 and 2010 Ph.D candidate of IIIS, got his doctoral degree in January 2016 under the supervision of Periklis A. Papakonstantinou. During his doctoral study, his research interests were mainly in foundations of cryptography and theoretical computer science. He has completed several research projects on the intersection of cryptography and computational complexity, made some innovative research achievements, and published papers on CRYPTO and other top international conferences and journals.
CACR Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award 2018 is to recognize the outstanding dissertations by national Ph.d graduates who received degrees from June 1, 2015 to June 1, 2018. A total of 4 papers were selected this year.
