MIT Technology Review announced its regional list of the top 35 innovators under the age of 35 in China — the TR35 China, and Pingzhong Tang, IIIS Associate Professor, was named to the 2018 TR35 China for his work in applying cooperative game theory to design, analyze and field economic mechanisms. The awarding ceremony took place in China World Summit Wing, Beijing, on January 21, 2019.
According to MIT Tech Review, the applications of Pingzhong’s research including water right market design, dynamic reserve pricing, personalized buyer impression allocation in electronic commerce, have a dramatic impact and are transforming the world to a better one in a humanitarian way.
MIT Technology Review is a magazine that was founded in 1899. The Innovators Under 35 is an annual list published by MIT Technology Review, covering five categories: Entrepreneurs, Inventors, Humanitarians, Pioneers, and Visionaries, to name the world's top 35 innovators under the age of 35. The MIT TR35 China Award was established in 2017 and the first honorees include two IIIS alumni: Tiancheng Lou PhD ‘12 (Visionary), Co-founder & CTO of Pony.ai and Qi Yin ‘ 10 (Entrepreneur), Founder & CEO of Face++.
