Short Bio:
Prof. Jaffe is a world-renowned mathematical physicist at Harvard University, a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and an Honorary Member of the Royal Irish Academy. He served as the chairman of the Harvard Mathematics Department (1987-1990), president of the the American Mathematics Society (1997-1998), and the Chair of the Council of Scientific Society Presidents and of the Mathematics Section of the AAAS, etc. He conceived the Clay Mathematics Institute, served as its first president, and designed most of its programs, including the famous Millennium Problems in Mathematics.
