IIIS Commencement 2019 took place at the Lecture Hall, FIT Building, on June 28, 2019. Prof. Bin Yang, Vice President of Tsinghua University, Prof. Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, Dean of IIIS, Prof. Longbo Huang, Director of Tsinghua Xuetang Artificial Intelligence Program (Zhi Class), were invited to attend the commencement, with the presence of IIIS faculty, all the graduates of 2019 and some students' parents. Prof. Ran Duan, Director of YaoClass, hosted the commencement.

In his welcome speech, Prof. Yao recalled the rapid development of academic and scientific research of IIIS and the technology of China in the past 15 years since he came back to Tsinghua University. He expected all graduates to think about meaning and value of life while improving academic competence and professional skills.

Prof. Bin Yang extended his congratulations to all the graduates. He spoke highly of Prof. Yao’s 15-year devotion to YaoClass and Tsinghua’s talent cultivation. Meanwhile, he encouraged all graduates to comprehend pure academic pursuit and be ambitious and devoted.

Congratulations and appreciations were also extended to all graduates by Prof. Huang. He reminded students to review their original dreams and think about future. To be ambitious and unyielding and to assume the responsibility of Tsinghua people were the expectations of Prof. Huang.

Yunchao Liu from Yaoclass 2014 and Guosai Wang from Yaoclass 2010 shared their experience at IIIS and expected to perform on a larger stage as a member of Tsinghua.

IIIS excellent graduates 2019 received public recognition during the commencement.

The Ceremony successfully concluded in the Old Anthem of Tsinghua. This year, 44 IIIS students will receive degree awarding.
