The second round of candidate selection in the independent enrollment of Tsinghua undergraduate program took place on March 11 to 12. It is the first time that Tsinghua University holds academic interviews for candidates applying for 11 majors. And the interview for Tsinghua Xuetang Special Pilot CS Class (Yao Class) took place on the afternoon of March 12. Prof. Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, Dean of IIIS and Chair Professor of Yao Class hosted the interview, and a panel of 9 IIIS faculty members including Deputy Dean Prof. Amy Yuexuan Wang, Assis Prof. John Steinberger and Assis Prof. Andrew Wan joined the interview.

Prof. Yao participated in the interview which went on until 9pm. He hosted panel discussions after each interview with a view to select the top students who are interested in the field of computer science.
