“Current Trends in Algorithms, Complexity Theory, and Cryptography” (CTACC 2009) was held at 9:00am on March 23 in 1-315, FIT Building. General chair of the conference, Prof. Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, chaired the opening ceremony. Attendees included 11 scholars from University of Aarhus, 3 from Chinese University of Hong Kong and University of Sydney as well as all the faculty members and students from ITCS.

Prof. Yao offered his warm wish to the success of CTACC 2009 in the opening ceremony. He spoke highly of the theoretical research from University of Aarhus, and mentioned that some of the Danish attendees had once worked in ITCS for exchange activities. He was sure this conference would strengthen the communication on relevant theoretical topITCS between ITCS members and scholars abroad.
Prof. Yao is giving a welcome speech during the opening ceremony.
After the opening ceremony, Prof. Peter Bro Miltersen made the first speech titled “Some recent results and some open problems concerning solving infinite duration games”, which focused on strategy of games and infinite duration.

During this conference, 21 speeches will be made by scholars from University of Aarhus, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Sydney and faculty members from ITCS. Various topITCS will be involved, concerning algorithms, complexity theory, and cryptography. It is hopeful that attendees can make greater achievements in their respective fields with the success of CTACC 2009.
