On the eve of Teachers’ Day, the Award of the 51 Tsinghua Excellent Supervisors was held in the Great Hall. IIIS Assistant Professor Wei Xu won the Special Award of “Tsinghua Excellent Supervisors”.
From Tsinghua University to University of Pennsylvania, from Berkeley to Google, after 12 years in US, Wei Xu left Mountain View, came back to China and joined IIIS at Tsinghua University. It is the third year for his assistant professor career in Tsinghua University. In this three years, he created an outstanding postgraduate program team, in which three members had graduated successfully.
‘Taking responsibility to my students, I grew up and stepped forward with them.’ Wei Xu said.
‘Tsinghua Excellent Supervisor’ was presented once every two years from 1998. It designed to the voting of good teachers by graduates, hence creating a platform to honor and respect teachers. 45 outstanding professors were awarded the title of “Tsinghua Excellent Supervisor”, while 12 of them won the Special Award.
