On June 28, 2021 Summer School on Frontiers in AI took place in Shanghai, co-organized by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences (IIIS), Tsinghua University and Shanghai Qi Zhi Institute. The summer school brought together a group of students from Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University and Tongji University, for a week-long program of immersion in artificial intelligence.
Over the course of the week, participants heard lectures from IIIS academics and a range of guest speakers, including Yu Yu, Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Xianzhong Zhao, Professor at Tongji University, Feng Zhang, Professor at Fudan University, Ran Duan, Associate Professor at Tsinghua University, and other eight assistant professors at Tsinghua University, covering various hot topics on deep learning, intelligent design, causal inference, algorithmic order, multi agent mechanism, cryptography, etc. There were also panel discussions devoted to the sharing of research experiences by the professors, in which the students gained a deeper understanding of both their own study and career plan.
The program also involved a visit to Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd.(COMAC).
