IIIS holds 2013 Graduation Ceremony and Yao Class Meeting

IIIS 2013 Graduation Ceremony and Yao Class Meeting took place at the Lecture Hall, FIT Building on the afternoon of June 19, with the presence of Prof. Si Yuan, Vice President of Tsinghua University, Prof. Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, Dean of IIIS, Prof. Luming Duan, CC Yao Professor of Tsinghua University, and Wenxue Zhang, Vice Director of Academic Affairs Office. IIIS faculty, all the graduates, some undergraduate and postgraduate students from Yao Class also attended the ceremony and Yao Class meeting.

Vice President Yuan extended his congratulations to all the graduates on behalf of the university. “You are made in China, made by Tsinghua and made for the whole world. Be bold, be original, be challenging” He gave the motto to inspire all the graduates. Vice President Yuan also paid tribute to Prof. Yao for his efforts and devotion in the academic development and talent cultivation at Tsinghua in past several years.

In his welcome address, Prof. Andrew Yao congratulated all the graduates and encouraged them to pursue their “China Dream”. He also hoped that every one of the students could make great achievement in their fields based on unremitting efforts.

In 2013 Graduation Ceremony, IIIS excellent graduates, Yao Award winners and outstanding student leaders received public recognition. Zhihao Jia from Yao Class 90 and Bangsheng Tang from Yao Class 40 shared their experience at Yao Class and made their resolution to devote passion and endeavor to their future life.

Jiajun Wu, Gold Medal winner of 2013 Yao Award, Yongzheng Jia, representative of IIIS outstanding student leaders and Chenye Wu, representative of excellent graduates shared their campus life in IIIS and Tsinghua.

 

The Ceremony successfully concluded in the Old Anthem of Tsinghua.
