Among various implementations of QKD, the entanglement-based approach is especially promising for future applications, as it forms the basis of device-independent quantum secure cryptography, holds the potential for yielding high bit rates, and facilitates networks without trusted nodes. I will present our recent work about long-distance (fiber-based and free-space) entanglement based QKD experiments. (DOI:10.1073/pnas.1818752116, 10.1038/ncomms15971).

Bo Liu obtained his PhD in Computer Science and Technology from National University of Defense Technology, China. He is now a Junior Scientist at IQOQI, Vienna, Austria. His main research interests are quantum optics, quantum key distribution, and quantum communication. So far he has 12 peer reviewed publications, 13 proceedings, cited more than 320 times (without self-citations), h-index 5 (as of 01.2019, ISI Web of Science), 4 pending patents.
